Aeration
Every lawn benefits from Aeration, we recommend this to be carried out between November
and end of January. By taking care of the lawn now you will reap the rewards in the Spring.
As during the winter months, soil may become compacted, a great way to create these
passageways for needed nutrients is to use an aerator.
Aeration is vital to the growth of healthy grass it keeps moss down and promotes root
development throughout the lawn, also allows oxygen and nutrients to the root structure.
The process is where the aerator machine – hollow tines / punctures the soil and pulls plugs
from the soil leaving small holes in the lawn to allow air and water to move in and out. We
recommend the plugs be left on the lawn to break down as organic matter.
Benefits of Aeration
- Improves air exchange between soil and atmosphere
- Enhances soil water uptake
