Fungicide Mushrooms
MUSHROOMS
Mushrooms grow in damp often shaded areas where there is organic waste.
The mushroom is a fungus that holds millions of fruiting spores to support the life of the fungi.
The spores are carried in the air and may end up on your lawn.
You can get them even in Summer when there is a lot of growth in the grass.
After a spell of rain, they may suddenly appear, and where moisture is being retained on the lawn due to heavy thatch.
PLEASE NOTE MUSHROOMS ARE NOT CAUSED BY FEEDING YOUR LAWN.
HOW TO REMOVE MUSHROOMS FROM YOUR LAWN
• Rake the grass cuttings.
• You can mow the mushrooms, but this will cause the spores to spread further. Instead, before mowing, you could pull the mushrooms out from the base.
• De-thatching / Aerating your lawn will reduce the places where the mushrooms will occur and help decrease the moisture that encourages mushrooms.
• Reduce the shade by trimming back overhanging branches or shrubs if they are casting shade on your lawn.
• Treat with a fungicide – but fungicides will have an impact on the fruiting bodies that are there for a short time; they will have no impact on the ones beneath the soil which can pop up overnight
