It is important to look after our robotic lawnmower throughout the winter months to ensure it is ready to tackle the lawn come Springtime. By caring for your lawnmower throughout these months it will not only ensure it is ready for Spring but also extend its lifespan giving you the best possible value for your buck! We would recommend following our tips to ensure the best possible care for your robotic lawnmower this winter.

1. Prepare for the Elements

It is crucial to protect your mower from the elements throughout the winter. If the mower is not protected from the low temperatures along with the frost and snow that come with it. All these weather effects can damage the sensitive electronics inside your mower. We would recommend storing your mower indoors in a dry and warm area with a temperature safely above freezing point, this will give your mower the best protection throughout the harsh Irish winter.

2. Fully Charge Your Battery

We would recommend fully charging your battery after its last use to ensure the batteries’ survival throughout the harsh winter as fully charging the battery wil prevent discharging. By fully charging the battery ou will also help to extend the batteries’ life, saving you money in the long run.

3. Cover Your Charging Station

Although the charging station can remain outdoors throughout the winter, we would recommend covering it to provide protection from the elements. By covering the charging station using a suitable bucket or a plastic container you will ensure it is ready for use come the springtime.

4. Turn off Your Rain Sensors

As we are now well into the harsh Irish winter it is important to turn off the rain sensor on your Kress robotic mower through the app.

For boundary mowers this can be found by entering the app and selecting ‘my lawn’, you will then have the option to switch off the rain delay to ‘Mow when Raining’.

For RTK mowers this can be found by entering the app and selecting ‘My Lawn’, you will then have the option to switch off the rain delay by selecting ‘Mow when Raining’.

If you do not have access to the app, you can also switch off the rain delay through ‘Settings’ on the display. However, this does not aply to KR100 and KR101E models.
